Jacop Lucas looks at his clients programs holistically. As the Director of Human Capital, he uses a consultative approach to help clients understand the root of their successes and challenges—which is not necessarily what they do, but how they do it.
His background in employment law compliance and employee benefits programs gives him a unique approach to his work. “While compliance is important, I’ve learned that if we focus too closely on checking things off a compliance list, we’re not paying close enough attention to our companies’ culture and our employees’ needs.”
Jacop believes compliance is just the first of many steps in creating an integrated HR model and instills confidence in his clients with his industry knowledge, reliability and attention to detail. “I prefer to ask questions like, ‘How will this process impact our people,’ or ‘How does this technology affect our employees’ performance and engagement,’ rather than, ‘Are we in compliance?’”
Jacop’s clients praise him for his positive attitude and listening skills. He prides himself on quick responses and timely solutions to client needs.
When he’s not at work, Jacop is focused on being a husband as well as father of three young children, and when time allows, an occasional round of golf. “I’m driven by my faith and personal values of honesty, loyalty and trust, which I live by every day.”
Jacop has insurance licenses in life, accident and health and property and casualty.
He has his B.A. in Communications from Purdue University.
